The Open Joint Stock Company Russian Joint Stock Company for Production of Nonferrous and Precious Metals Norilsk Nickel (hereinafter referred to as RAO Norilsk Nickel or the Company) is a subsidiary of OJSC MMC Norilsk Nickel, world leader in nickel and palladium production, one of the key producers of platinum and cobalt and a major producer of copper (hereinafter referred to as MMC Norilsk Nickel). 
 
In accordance with the Company’s Charter, RAO Norilsk Nickel pursues the following activities: 
 
 
  - Managing extraction and processing of nonferrous and precious metal ores, processing recovered metal-bearing materials and crude products, manufacturing nonferrous and precious metal products and articles therefrom;
 
 
  - Scientific, design and investigatory tasks, geological surveying, developing raw materials supply base, ensuring comprehensive and integrated use of minerals, their byproducts and production tailings;
 
 
  - Rationally allocating and applying research and production capacities, employing them in efficient production, advancing science and technology, ensuring product competitiveness at global scale;
 
 
  - Importing and exporting products and services, establishing mutually beneficial external economic and commercial ties, carrying out scientific and technological exchange with non-domestic companies;
 
 
  - Investment activities, including issuance of proprietarysecurities, sale and purchase of securities, providing investment services, building up investment institutions to protect interests of the Company, its subsidiaries and affiliates;
 
 
  - Activities pertaining to data concerning national security, protection thereof and/or providing services thereto;
 
 
  - Developing social infrastructure at the location of the Company’s subsidiaries and affiliates.
